Spotlight on our F6NM round bar stock...

Since the formation of Special Quality Alloys Ltd back in 1986, the material grade F6NM has been an integral part of the business. The dominant use of this grade is in the Oil & Gas industry and our extensive round bar stock range has ensured our major supplier status.

A martensitic stainless, with the addition of Nickel & Molybdenum, creating a high strength steel with excellent sub-zero impact properties. F6NM also exhibits a high level of corrosion resistance and weldability.

We have decades of experience in the supply of F6NM material which has been used in the manufacture of Valve Bodies, Bonnets, Valve Seats & Gates, Stems, Hangers, Pressure Containing Parts, Seals and more.

Applicable  Specifications:

• NACE MR-0175/ISO 15156
• ASTM A182/182M F6NM (Chemistry only)
• ASTM A276/276M UNS S41500 (Chemistry only)
• ASTM A479/479M UNS S41500 (Chemistry only)

Typical mechanical properties in Solution Annealed and Double Tempered condition:

• 0.2% Yield Strength  -  75000 PSI min                     
• Tensile Strength   -   95000 PSI min
• Elongation   -   18% min
• Reduction of Area   -   35% min
• Hardness   -   23 HRC max
• Charpy V-Notch @ 60 DEG C   -   42/34 Joules

Chemical Analysis Range:

Carbon 0.03% max - Phosphorus 0.025% max - Chromium 12.5% to 13.5% - Silicon 0.3% to 0.6% - Sulphur 0.025% max - Nickel 3.5% to 4.5% - Manganese 0.5% to 1% - Nitrogen 0.03% max - Molybdenum 0.3% to 0.7%
